Stuart Barton, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Barton

Dr. Barton received his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and his M.D. from the University of Southern California. He completed his residency training at UCLA, division of Head and Neck Surgery.

After competing military service, Dr. Barton founded Desert ENT in 1971. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery and President of the Medical Staff at Eisenhower Medical Center. Dr. Barton is a member of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a member of the Clinical Faculty of UCLA.

Dr. Barton’s special interests include treatment of hearing loss, tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid and neck, sinus surgery, pediatric surgery including tonsils and tubes as well as office management of snoring and nasal congestion.

 

Robert N. Gebhart, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Gebhart received his B.A. from Ohio Weslyan University and his M.D. from Cincinnati College of Medicine. He was a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force and completed his residency training at University of California at Los Angeles, division of Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Gebhart has been in practice at Desert ENT since 1974. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Head and Neck Surgeons. Dr. Gebhart is a member of the clinical faculty at UCLA. Dr. Gebhart is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Gebhart’s special interests include management of sinus problems medically and surgically, thyroid and parathyroid tumors, children’s ENT problems and facial cancers with removal and reconstruction.

 

Quinten M. VanderWerf, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. VanderWerf

Dr. VanderWerf received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of California at Davis and his M.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. He was chosen to continue at UCLA for residency training in the Division of Head and neck Surgery. In addition to extensive training in head and neck surgery/Otolaryngology, he received advanced training in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery.

Dr. VanderWerf has been in practice at Desert ENT since 1999. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. VanderWerf is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. VanderWerf’s special interests include cosmetic and functional nasal surgery, surgery for the aging face, and reconstruction following facial skin cancer removal.

 

Syed F. Ahsan, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Ahsan received his B.S. in Biology from the University of California at Los Angeles and his M.D. from State University of New York, Heath Science Center at Brooklyn. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to training in head and neck surgery, he completed a two year clinical and research fellowship in Otology/Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Miami Ear Institute.

Dr. Ashan Joined Desert ENT in 2003. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Ahsan is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Ashan’s special interests include medical and surgical management of hearing loss, ,including cochlear implantation, the treatment of dizziness and surgical management of tumors of the ear, temporal bone and the hearing and balance nerves.

 

Christopher M. Walz, M.D.

Dr. Walz graduated with honors in Biology from Pepperdine University and his M.D. from the Univesity of Southern California School of Medicine with highest distinction. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Duke University where he mastered the latest techniques and advances in the specialty.

Dr Walz is widely published, and has an interest in treating both pediatric and adult disorders of the head and neck.
