In 1971, Stuart Barton, M.D. founded Desert Ear, Nose & Throat, the valley's first medical and surgical ENT group offering complete, in-house audiological services. He was joined in 1974 by Robert Gebhart, M.D.

In 1999, Quinten VanderWerf, M.D. joined Desert ENT. Dr. VanderWerf completed medical school and Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residency training at U.C.L.A. He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has experience in the latest techniques of cosmetic facial plastic surgery including minimally invasive endoscopic face lifts.
